Raised in the vibrant musical landscape of Nairobi, Kenya, 22-year-old Coastarian singer-songwriter Altair Saïd has rapidly emerged as a compelling voice in the Alternative R&B, Blues, and Afro Soul space. Balancing a dual life, Altair is currently in his fourth and final year studying Medical Biochemistry at Swansea University in Wales.
Following the release of his debut project, Altair intentionally stepped back from the spotlight to focus on his growth. Moving abroad to pursue pre-med provided a sharp contrast to his early writing environments. Far from home, navigating independence, quiet routine, and imposter syndrome forced him into uncomfortable, reflective spaces. That period of introspection transformed his perspective, pushing him to overcome self-doubt and build a massive new catalog centered on his true, authentic sound.
Working with Soul Headquarters over the past two years, Altair has sharpened his pen and expanded his sonic palette. His music bridges his coastal roots with rich, emotive storytelling, blending raw vulnerability, Swahili-infused lyricism, and atmospheric production. Standing at the intersection of medicine and music—with long-term aspirations in neurosurgery—Altair approaches his art with surgical precision and deep emotional resonance.
Older, wiser, and remarkably resilient, Altair Saïd is ready to reintroduce himself with a mature, beautifully textured body of work that honors where he came from while boldly stepping into the future.
