Born in Benin City, Nigeria, AYLØ grew up against the eclectic backdrop of his mother's gospel records, his father's jazz collection, and the rap and soul his uncles introduced him to. Knowing from age six that he wanted to be a musician, he gravitated naturally toward the craft, developing into an alternative rap/soul artist by default.

A polymath- rapper, producer, and songwriter- AYLØ produces roughly half of his own catalog, giving his music a distinctive, self-crafted feel. His sound is genre-fluid and unafraid of experimentation, drawing on influences from Fela Kuti to Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000, Sade, Burna Boy, Damian Marley, and Soulection. He's also a sought-after collaborator, sharing writing credits with Wizkid on "Time" from the Morayo album, alongside work with Tay Iwar, Amaarae, and Santi.
